Hello and welcome to the new ArtsATL website!
We’re excited to provide you with a completely new format to engage with Atlanta’s arts scene.
Since our start, ArtsATL has been in the business of igniting deeper conversations about the arts in Atlanta. We do this through our reviews, news stories, features, interviews and supplemental programming. It is our aim to be the leading resource for Atlanta’s multi-disciplinary arts across the nation. Thanks to the generosity of Susan and Ron Antinori and the David, Helen and Marian Woodward Fund, we’re now able to provide our readers with a sophisticated and modern reading experience.
Without a reliable source for criticism and news, Atlanta’s creative community would be jeopardized. That’s the principle on which Catherine Fox and Pierre Ruhe founded ArtsATL. It’s our intention to continue to provide the high-quality reviews and news content that our readership has grown to know and count on us for.
But if we’re going to be the defining voice of Atlanta’s arts community, which is our goal, we can’t stop there.
Atlanta is a city of over 5.5 million people. We’re a city rich with diverse perspectives and wide ranges of talent. If we’re going to garner attention for Atlanta on a national level, it is our duty as a publication to incorporate all of these perspectives into the fold.
It’s for that reason that we are broadening and deepening our coverage of arts in Atlanta. This is reflected in the voices of our expanding contributor base and new forms of stories. Our readers can now anticipate opinion pieces, shorter reviews, video essays and long-form features. These additional forms of coverage will provide our readers with a more enriched experience.
These stories will also serve as a testament: Atlanta’s got something to say, and we can speak for ourselves.
Thank you so much to those who took part in our surveys and provided us with such thoughtful feedback on our existing coverage. We took all of it to heart while developing this new site with Big Storytellers and Dan Israel.
We hope that you enjoy this new era of ArtsATL. Thank you again for your continued support.
