Alex Ross, classical music critic for The New Yorker, cited ArtsATL as a publication showing a way forward for arts criticism in his widely read blog, The Rest Is Noise:

“… I sounded a somewhat pessimistic tone about the fate of arts criticism, given the hostile attitude of so many newspapers and periodicals around the country, but Third Coast Digest … ArtsATL in Atlanta and the Arts Desk in the UK [are] suggesting an alternative future.”

Says Tom Key, actor and executive artistic director of Theatrical Outfit:

“As Atlanta continues to evolve as a center and source of art and culture, it is more important than ever that her artists benefit from a rigorous and constructive dialectic with art critics — trained informed critics who write with an equal focus of intention and who aspire to excel with equal passion. ArtsATL is just this kind of example of the best in arts criticism, and, as such, is a godsend to the artists of our community and to all those who, as a result, will benefit from their creativity even more richly.”

Not surprised, and glad to see significant others are taking note.
