Fifteen alumni of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Talent Development Program perform a chamber recital in honor of Azira and the late Jesse Hill,  who were early TDP benefactors, a. 7 p.m. December 30 a. First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta.

DECEMBER 28

CINEMA: Hair. Milos Forman (“Ragtime,” “One Flew Over the Cukoo’s Nest”) directed this 1979 screen adaptation of Broadway’s hit musical about the Vietnam War and the young folk who opposed it. Times vary; opens December 28. Plaza Theatre.

MUSIC: Umphrey’s McGee. 8 p.m. Indiana’s “improg” rockers perform with a shifting roster of opening acts, including Zoogma. December 28–31. The Tabernacle.

DECEMBER 29

ART + DESIGN: You Can’t Get There From Here. Last chance to see these works by Jennifer Cawley and some of her colleagues from the Savannah College of Art and Design MFA program. Read our interview with the artist. Emily Amy Gallery.

ART + DESIGN: Open Studio for Teens. Youngsters ages 15 and older can meet one another in a creative environment. 4–7 p.m. January 3. High Museum.

JANUARY 4

MUSIC: Terreon Gully & Friends. This eclectic jazz drummer does his thing alongside saxophonist Kenneth Whalum, keyboardist Marc Cary and others. 9 p.m. January 4–5. Apache Café.

JANUARY 5
