Wabi Sabi, the off-season chamber group founded by veteran Atlanta Ballet dancer John Welker in 2011, returns to the familiar environs of the Atlanta Botantical Garden on Thursday evening, September 20.

The performance will feature five new original works by emerging choreographers, including  two by Atlanta Ballet dancers Tara Lee and Peng-Yu Chen. Also to be performed are new works by Nicole Jones, an Atlanta Ballet Fellowship dancer; Nathan Griswold, a former Atlanta Ballet dancer now with Germany’s Ballet Augsburg; and Gretchen Alterowitz, an associate professor of dance at the University of North Carolina Charlotte.

Part of the Botanical Garden’s “Cocktails in the Garden” series, the performance will begin at 6 p.m.

Wabi Sabi made its debut at the Botanical Garden in the fall of 2011 and last performed there in June.
